The Function of the Fuel Cock Lever: A Fuel Indicator
Good morning, folks... Just sharing a little light info about the function of the fuel tap stem/lever. I'm sure most of you already know, but it's okay, I'll just write it down for documentation and in case anyone still needs info on the fuel tap stem's function as an indicator.
Before riding, get into the habit of checking the fuel tap stem, make sure the tap is in the ON position or straight up (as in the picture).
Why, bro?
Because in this position, the fuel tap not only functions to open the fuel tap normally, but also serves as an indicator when the fuel is about to run out.
So when the fuel runs low, the motorcycle feels like it's about to suddenly die / has already died as if it ran out of fuel. Well, this is a warning for us that the fuel is in an emergency state (hahaha, exaggerating).
.
Don't panic, folks... stay cool... turn the tap to Res (R), kick-start your beloved Vespa again and quickly go get fuel at your favorite Pertamina or Pertamini 😝. In the Res position, the Vespa can still run for approximately 2 KM, depending on the engine's CC and individual carburetor settings.
Hope this is useful, folks...
If anything is missing or wrong, please add and correct it 🙏🏻
